Convolution in the frequency domain

• In the frequency domain, convolution is the product of the reflectivity and wavelet amplitude spectra, or

• S(f)=W(f)R(f )

• If the wavelet is bandlimited between frequencies f1 and f2, the seismic trace has lost both the high frequency and the low frequency portions of the spectrum.
