Recursive inversion in practice
Extract wavelet and deconvolve the data.
- A robust approach is to estimate the wavelet amplitude and phase spectra using both seismic and well log measurements (the Wiener filter).
Build a model impedance at each seismic trace by:
- Inserting the well-log derived impedances.
- Correlating the synthetic with the seismic data.
- Interpolating the impedance values.
- “Stretching” the impedance using seismic picks.
Scale the seismic data to the reflection coefficients and apply recursive inversion to each trace.
Add the low frequency component of the model to the recursively inverted traces at each location.
