• We next discussed the model-based approach to post-stack inversion.

• The limitation of this method was that we could only get an (approximate) estimate the P-impedance.

• We then extended model-based inversion to the pre-stack domain, allowing us to estimate P and S-impedance and density.

• We finished with a Gulf of Mexico case study using the pre-stack model-based inversion approach.
