Model conclusions
The P-wave synthetic from our gas sand model matches our observed P-wave seismic response (trough at top, large reflection coefficients = “bright spot”).
However, there are other types of lithology (e.g. shale under carbonate) which would give a similar response.
The S-wave synthetic could help tell us the difference between gas and non-gas sands.
Later in the talk we will discuss how to derive S-impedance from P-wave data.
